Berglund Construction played a key role in this restoration project at the University of Illinois Memorial Stadium, where they are oversaw critical repairs to the east side main seating and upper balcony. The project involved the full removal of deteriorated joints due to existing failures, followed by the replacement of these joints. In addition to this, we managed the careful removal, protection, storage, and cataloging of the existing bleachers to ensure their integrity for future use.

The scope also included a comprehensive scrape and paint of the existing steel structure to enhance both durability and aesthetics. Given the tight timeline, with all work needing to be completed before the football season kicked off in August, the project was completed on time and with efficiency and precision to meet the demanding schedule.
