Project Overview

Berglund Construction used both Preconstruction and Construction services for the completion of the Gunsaulus Hall Cornice and Wall restoration. The projects main challenge was the intricate scaffolding system to perform all the masonry and gutter work spanning the METRA rail road lines whilte keeping trains active. The scope of work included an investigation period, mobilization and layout and erection of complex scaffold system. To complete this, Berglund worked closely and coordinated with the METRA train system. Berglund also completed the restoration of limestone cornice and wall to include removal of gutter cornice, modification of drain lines, grind and tuckpoint of limestone facade and reinstallation of cornice.
