Position Overview:
Berglund Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budgeting, forecasting, and accounting processes. The Senior Project Accountant will work closely with project managers, project teams, and senior leadership to ensure financial reporting is timely, accurate, and aligned with the company’s goals and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the financial operations of multiple construction projects, ensuring accurate tracking of costs, revenues, and budgets.
• Prepare, review, and analyze project financial reports, including job costing, budgets, forecasts, and progress billing.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure project costs and budgets are accurately tracked and updated throughout the lifecycle of each project.
• Process and verify subcontractor payments, invoices, and change orders, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
• Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics, project status, and any variances.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure proper accounting for revenue recognition, cost allocation, and compliance with GAAP and other financial standards.
• Support the preparation of project financials for audits, tax filings, and internal reviews.
• Assist with cash flow management, including tracking payments, vendor invoicing, and receivables.
• Review and reconcile general ledger accounts related to projects and job costing.
• Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff as needed.
• Continuously evaluate financial processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting.
