The Blue Chip Casino, Hotel and Spa in Michigan City, Indiana recently celebrated the grand opening of their new 15,000 sqft Fremont Ballroom. The new expansion of the casino’s Stardust Event Center means that Blue Chip now has more than 45,000 sqft of meeting space available for conventions, banquets, wedding receptions, and other events.
Berglund Construction built the new ballroom which can be divided into six smaller rooms of approximately 1,500 sqft each. The new space features dark wood finishes, LED chandeliers, built-in projection systems, and patterned carpeting. The expansion will help Blue Chip to continue attracting more conventions and events.
Michigan City Mayor, Ron Meer, who cut the ribbon to open the new ballroom alongside Brenda Temple, Blue Chip Vice President and General Manager and Bill Wright, Boyd Gaming Senior Vice President of Operations, said the new ballroom will keep Michigan City front and center for events and conventions in the region, state and beyond.
