Berglund is serving as construction manager for a project at Thorek Memorial Hospital that includes sixth floor ventilation upgrades, window replacement and masonry restoration. The hospital is located on Chicago's north side.
The ventilation upgrade began with removing the existing MEP systems on the roof of the building and demolition of interior finishes and building systems on the sixth floor
In the next phase, we are installing new mechanical systems on the building roof and extending building services from the lower floors of the building through to the roof. We are then installing new HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems on the sixth floor, as well as new ceilings and lighting.
On the exterior of the building, we are replacing the windows on the fifth and sixth floors of the 1981 Building of the hospital. Berglund's Restoration Division is self-performing masonry restoration, which includes tuck pointing the facade.
