Berglund Construction is partnering with the Society of Architectural Historians, Harboe Architects, and TGRWA, LLC, on a structural investigation of the stairs at the Charnley-Persky House. Investigation openings in the plaster ceilings will be made to assess the condition of the staircase and repair the underlying structure. The Charnley-Persky House was designed in 1891 by Louis Sullivan with assistance from his then draftsman Frank Lloyd Wright. Considered an icon of modern residential architecture, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is both a Chicago Landmark and National Historic Landmark.
