On Tuesday night, the Chicago Building Congress recognized Berglund’s St. Bernard Hospital New Ambulatory Addition project as a finalist for a merit award.
The project was one of four finalists in the New Construction Under $55 Million category. Team members from Berglund, St. Bernard Hospital, and Proteus Group Architects enjoyed the opportunity to reflect on a highly successful project that has had a profound impact on the Englewood community.
The new 72,000 sq. ft., three-story slab-on-grade building was constructed at 6307 S. Stewart Ave. in Chicago. The building includes an outpatient services facility with an MRI and radiology imaging center on previously developed land, a green roof system, a permeable pavement system, and women's health services. This project was the client's strategic approach to addressing the changing community needs in response to the Affordable Health Care Act.
