Merrillville, IN – May 14, 2015 - Each year, the Construction Advancement Foundation honors the best projects in Northwest Indiana with the CAF Awards. The annual Awards recognize the ongoing success of industrial, commercial and public works projects, and the companies and organizations behind them, which are driving economic development and job creation in the region.
Berglund Construction was honored with the Project of the Year Award for the East Chicago Lighthouse Academies Project. The project was chosen because it achieved excellence in the following areas:
- Safety
- Excellence in partnering and teamwork
- Quality in project management
- Innovation and uniqueness in construction techniques
- Sympathy for the environment and its surroundings
- Character and value that was added to the community
- Craftsmanship
Jim Dyer, Senior Vice President of Berglund Construction stated “We are very proud of this achievement and the opportunity to share this award with such a great group of people from Lighthouse Academies and Gerometta & Kinel Architects.”
The awards banquet was held at the Avalon Manor located in Merrillville, Indiana and was attended by over 500 of AEC Industry leaders.
