On Wednesday, Berglund, alongside Perkins-Eastman, accepted the ENR Regional Best Projects awards for our work on the Physics Research Center, completed last year. Berglund and Perkins-Eastman worked as General Contractor and Architect for the LASR project or The Phyiscs Research Center and The University of Chicago. The project was awarded a Higher Education/Research and Safety Award of Merit by the Engineering News-Record. The magazine provides engineering and construction news, analysis, commentary and data.

The Physics Research Center renovation and expansion allowed the University of Chicago to co-locate physicists and theorists within a scientific and educational environment. A careful balance of private offices, lab space and collaboration areas provide a welcome atmosphere for The University of Chicago's important research and learning. Berglund provided both preconstruction and construction services for this project.
